“Setting up at Ideon is a natural step for us because it gives us access to the skills needed for software and hardware development, as well as technical project management. Our focus is online solutions for the home, mainly in safety, comfort, climate and ventilation – areas that are particularly affected by our core products, windows and doors,” says Håkan Jeppsson, President and CEO of Inwido.
Ideon Science Park is a business venue and research site in Lund, with over 450 companies and 10,000 employees. Other companies located in the area include Volvo, Microsoft, Axis, Sony and Bosch, who have offices and development facilities there. Initially, a handful of people will work at Inwido’s office at the site.
Following the launch of the smart window and the smart door, Inwido is now launching the smart sunshade under the product name Copenhagen Blinds. As the name suggests, this is an extremely modern product of Danish design, which brings the venerable Venetian Blind into the 21st century. The launch is part of the Group’s investment in smart products to improve life at home.
